I am interested in writing about my selected topic, schizophrenia, for a few reasons actually, but I have to say that the most important and most influenced reason is the movie named 'A Beautiful Mind.'  I love love this movie and what it's about.  I am so intrigued by the disease schizophrenia, the illness that takes a hold of notorious code breaker Mr. John Nash in the movie, although it is based on a true story.  After seeing that movie, I was hooked.  I wanted to watch it again and learn more about this sickness called schizophrenia.  It's so interesting to me.  I want to learn about it; how it comes about in a person, how many worldwide does it affect, is there a cure, what are the symptoms and signs, what exactly does it do to one, how many different levels and variations are existing, and most importantly how can I help.  All of these questions are going through my head, I'm wondering the answers.  I am passionate about this topic and want answers and want to get involved, that's why I'm interested in this topic, schizophrenia.  I think that my audience will be very interested because I feel that it is something off the wall, different, interesting, and it is something that many people do not have any common knowledge about and can learn something from my research.  I do not think that my topic will target one specific demographic group of people.  It is a topic that anyone and everyone can learn about and I think that it has some "catchiness" to it even in the name, schizophrenia.  Those who directly suffer from schizophrenia and/ or anyone else who may know someone suffering from it may be especially interested in order to broaden their knowledge and find ways to help out.  For the most part, I just think that it is something that we all should be aware about, because it's fascinating, the way these victims lead their lives seems unreal, but it's very real indeed.
